Today, the Minister of Transport, Engineer Abdullah Laibi, announced the start of the actual operation of the 25 and 26 berths in the northern Umm Qasr Port after completing its completion in the presence of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Mr. Walid Al-Sahlani, and a number of members of the Iraqi Parliament.
And the Minister of Transport stated that this achievement has great significance in revitalizing the economic side and increasing the capacity to 500 thousand containers per berth annually, especially after the introduction of three giant cranes for handling, which is the first of its kind considered one of the largest bridge cranes in the world.
For his part, Al-Sahlani praised the great efforts that made this achievement in record times, which confirms the commitment of the Ministry of Transport to implement the government program according to the specified time times.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Transport is determined by the efforts of its employees to implement the government program that serves the Iraqi economy and the honorable citizen, and that the completion of the three sidewalks project is to achieve one of the goals of the program in record time within the strategic plan of the Iraqi government.
